The State Governor, Seyi Makinde has announced 10,000 naira monthly transportation support fund for the state workers, including local government employees.
Governor Makinde who made the declaration at an event held at Fashola Agribusiness Hub, Oyo, said the intervention will run for an initial period of three months.
He expressed optimism that the palliative which will take effect from April, may be extended beyond the initial three-month period, depending on prevailing economic conditions.
According to the Governor, the measure is designed to cushion financial burden on civil servants, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery across ministries, departments and agencies.
He added that the initiative aligns with his administration’s commitment to worker-friendly policies and sustainable economic relief programmes under Oyo State government’s SAfER framework.
