Oyo State Acting Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, says Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration will continue to prioritise a royal system worthy of emulation by other South-West states.

Barrister Lawal said this at the elevation ceremony of Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, to a beaded-crown-wearing Oba in line with the amended Olubadan Chieftaincy Declaration, held at new Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

According to the Acting Governor, the occasion has put an end to controversies surrounding the issue of beaded crown in Ibadanland and shows that the traditional system is capable of reinventing itself without external interference.

Presenting the Staff of Office and the Certificate to Oba Ladoja, the Acting Governor congratulated him on the acceptance of the beaded crown.

Responding, the newly-elevated Oba Ladoja, thanked Governor Makinde and Oyo state government for their efforts in ensuring that peace reigned in Ibadanland.

Oba Ladoja equally thanked indigenes of Ibadanland for their support and prayed for the progress of the land and Oyo State.

The event had in attendance Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, Olubadan-in-Council, Commissioners, and President-General of CCII, Barrister Ajeniyi Ajewole
