The Head of Democratic and Good Governance Unit, Justice Development and Peace Commission, JDPC, Mr. Jide Bamgbose, says lack of local government autonomy have continued to stall development at the grassroots.
Mr Bamgbose made this known while featuring on ‘Isejoba rere’ a Pensioners’ FM development agenda weekly programme of JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior.
According to Mr Bamgbose, local government autonomy would deepen democracy by bringing government closer to the people.
Mr Bamgbose, therefore, urged Oyo state government under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to accede to self-governance of local government for overall development of the state.
Isejoba Rere’ which is a development agenda programme by JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior, holds every Thursday on Pensioners FM from half past two to 3’ O’clock in the afternoon.
