LGSPB Chairman Appreciates Gov. Makinde for Increasing Monthly Payment of Pensions, Gratuity

The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board Hon Akeem Ige has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde for increasing the monthly payment of pension and gratuity to state and local government retirees to One billion naira with effect from 25th of this month.

Hon Ige in a statement made available to newsmen said Governor Makinde has always been pensioners friendly, their welfare is paramount to him and that was why he announced the approval of the increase from  250 million naira to 500 million naira for retired primary school teachers, Local government retirees and from 206 million naira to 500 million naira for State retirees totaling  one billion naira every month with effect from July 2024. “This is unprecedented and calls for applause to the people’s governor Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde.

” This is in addition to the monthly payment of pension on the 25th of every month, payment of wage award and other welfare packages that Oyo State Pensioners are  enjoying since the inception of this present administration.”

Hon Ige also thanked the Governor for payment of Eighteen billion naira to retired primary school teachers and local government retirees out of inherited backlog of gratuity from previous administrations.

The Chairman therefore urged all pensioners in the pacesetter state to continue to support and cooperate with the present government led by Governor Makinde in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
