Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has presented Staff of Office and certificate of appointment to the 46th Alaafin of Oyo, Abimbola Owoade.
The brief ceremony, held at the Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, marked the formal ascension of the new monarch to the revered throne of Alaafin of Oyo
Governor Makinde, while presenting described the new Alaafin, as a leader poised to uphold cultural and historical heritage of the Oyo Kingdom.
The Governor while expressing confidence that Oba Owoade will lead with wisdom, integrity, and a commitment to the unity of Oyo kingdom, admitted that the Alaafin stool is a custodian of rich history and tradition.
Responding, the new Alaafin, Oba Abimbola Owoade, expressed appreciation to the people of Oyo town and pledged to prioritize development of the kingdom and welfare of its residents.
The event was attended by traditional and political rulers, top government officials and well-wishers from Oyo town.
