A curator at the National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, Mrs Pamela Oriyomi-Otuka has urged government and stakeholders to invest in museums as a way of promoting cultural heritage.
Mrs Oriyomi-Otuka made this known in an interview after featuring on Pensioners FM yoruba stewardship programme, “Abo Re.”
According to her, this would help preserve the museum and its artifacts as an entity for national development.
Mrs Oriyomi-Otuka said museums are there to enlighten the people about their pedigree and heritage through artifacts preservation.
She also called for more youth involvement in cultural preservation.
Mrs Oriyomi-Otuka added that, the National Museum of Unity, Ibadan, the first in southwest, is an ethnographic museum established for the preservation of cultural heritage of different ethnic groups in Nigeria.
