National Museum of Unity to Immortalize Ayinde Barrister

The National Museum of Unity in Ibadan, has agreed to immortalise Fuji music icon, Late Chief Sikiru Ayinde popularly known as Barrister, within its gallery. 

The decision was reached following a courtesy visit by members of the Sikiru Ayinde Barrister Music Festival Forum, BarryFest, to the museum with a proposal to immortalise the late musician.

The Curator of the Museum, Mrs. Pamela Otuka, confirmed the museum’s readiness to collaborate with the BarryFest team in developing an exhibition that would feature memorabilia, musical recordings, photographs, and historical documents reflecting Ayinde Barrister’s life. 

Mrs. Otuka also said with the collaboration, Ayinde Barrister would join the other celebrated Nigerian figures whose stories would be showcased in the National Museum of Unity.

The Secretary General of BarryFest, Agbaakin Ademola Adesigbin, expressed appreciation for the museum’s support.

Agbaakin Adesigbin also reiterated their commitment to ensuring that the late icon’s influence continues to inspire music lovers and cultural enthusiasts worldwide.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Kayrom Lee Group of Companies, Alhaja Romoke Ayinde, who is also the Ambassador of the Museum, said Ayinde Barrister was a promoter of Yoruba culture.
