Ogun State Government says plans are underway to transform the tourism landscape in the state into a world-class tourism hub.
The state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Sesan Fagbayi, who stated this during an inspection tour to Olumo Rock Tourist Complex, said the renovation was part of a plan to transform the tourism sector in the state.
Mr Fagbayi pointed out that the initiatives were put in place for implementation of E-ticketing system, strategic security measures involving the law enforcement agencies as well as integrating nearby historical sites to enhance visitor’s experience, saying, the plan was in line with the regional tourism development strategies, focusing on modernization, historical preservation, as well as creating memorable visitor experience.
The Commissioner, who expressed optimism that the completion of the facelifts at the tourist site would increase expectations of substantial growth following the ongoing renovation, said the centre received over a hundred visitors in 2024, while 39 thousand tourists had visited the site between January and March 2025.
