Olubadan’s Body Interred in Ibadan

The remains of the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mahood Olalekan Balogun, have been committed to mother earth.

Oba Balogun who joined his ancestors on Thursday, 14th, 2024, was buried according to Islamic rites at the family’s ancestral home, Aliiwo, Ibadan.

Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, led other Islamic leaders to conduct burial rites on the remains of Ọba Balogun.

Earlier at the lying in state held at the ancient Mapo hall, Ibadan, tributes were showered on the late Olubadan who was described as a peace loving person and an achiever.

The Olubadan in council, family and prominent persons in Ibadan also paid homage as a sign of last respect to the late monarch.

The 42nd Olubadan, who was presented staff of office in March 2022, joined his ancestors yesterday at the age of 81.
