Ona Ara Local Govt. Inaugurates Security Post

Security agencies in Oyo State have been urged to prioritize the maintenance of vehicles and other infrastructures provided for them.

The local government chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Honourable Masibau Sanusi said this at the inauguration and official handing over of a security post, “Thy Will Police Post” built by Binukonu communities in Ibadan.

Honorable Sanusi advised the operatives of the inaugurated security post to be civil in the discharge of their duties in the area.

He lauded Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in its efforts in securing lives and property through the provision and adequate equipping of various security operatives in the state.

Earlier in his remark, the former Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Honourable Taiwo Oke, urged the combined agencies that will be using the security post to checkmate the indiscriminate exploitation of the people of the area.

Also in an address, a Community Leader in the area, Deacon Femi Oladipo underscored the significance of mutual relationship between communities and security agencies.

Deacon Oladipo who was a former General Manager, Radio Nigeria Positive FM, Akure charged various executives of communities in the area to familiarize themselves with activities of Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC to be abreast of the roles of the people and security Agencies.

He recalled that various security measures adopted in Yorubaland before the advent of colonial administration helped in checking criminal activities in the society, stressing that such strategies should be put in place through proper upbringing of children and reorientation of youths.

The event was witnessed by members of the Executives of Ona-Ara Local Government Council and number of traditional rulers in the area.

Highlights of the occasion was the cutting of the tape to declare the building open for use by a Team of Operation Burst, inspection of the security post by Honourable Sanusi, executive members of Ona Ara local government, traditional Chiefs and team head of Operation Burst.
