A Public Affairs Analyst, Mr Jide Ojo has called on Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to ensure proper supervision of its staff before during and after elections.
Mr Ojo made this known in an interview while reacting to the protest staged by Ondo state youths against the state’s Resident Electoral Commission, REC, Oluwatoyin Babalola calling for her redeployment from the state.
He called on INEC to establish Electoral Offence Commission for its staff and ensure stiffer penalties for anyone who goes against the commission’s directives.
Mr Ojo, who is also a Developmental Analyst, said if this is properly implemented, it would restore the trust of the people in the electoral process.
Ondo state youths had called for the redeployment of Mrs Babalola from the state, alleging that she has been holding private meetings with leaders of some political parties.
