Oyo State House of Assembly has called for the introduction of electronic card to monitor the attendance and commitment of civil servants in the state.

The Assembly made the call during plenary, while reacting to a motion titled “The Need for Government to Conduct Comprehensive Investigation into Abscondment of Some Staff across Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs and Injection of Young Graduates into Civil Service.”

Presiding over the plenary, Speaker and mover of the motion, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, said absconding staff still under payroll are surcharging the state government of money which could be channelled to other areas of public interest.

The motion was co-sponsored by leader of the house, Honourable Sanjo Onaolapo and member representing Ibadan North 2 constituency, Honourable Gabriel Babajide.
