The Oyo State House of Assembly has condemned the attitude of some health workers in the state.
Leader of the House, Honourable Sanjo Onaolapo and some lawmakers co-sponsored the motion presented during Plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin.
Presenting the motion, Honourable Onaolapo cited a case of one late Mrs. Susan Babatunde who lost her life due to the alleged negligence of a medical doctor at the General Hospital, Ogbomosho.
He added that such an attitude has been reoccurring, but always swept under the carpet with neither solution nor punishment for the offenders.
Responding, the house directed its Standing Committee on Health to invite the Chairman and Permanent Secretary of Hospital Management Board for further investigation.
The house also called for proper investigation into the causes of Mrs. Babatunde’s death, in order to bring the culprit to book and to serve as a deterrent to others.
