Oyo Assembly Passes 2024 Budget

The Oyo State house of Assembly has passed into law, a sum of four hundred and thirty-eight billion, four hundred and forty-seven million naira, as the 2024 Appropriation Bill of the state.

The 2024 budget is four billion, two hundred million naira higher than the budget proposal presented by Governor Seyi Makinde.

The passage was sequel to the report of the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation and State Economic Planning, Chaired by Honourable Olasunkanmi Babalola, member representing Egbeda constituency.

Speaking with newsmen, Honourable Babalola, said the increment was to cater for some critical sectors, especially primary healthcare and agricultural sector.

The Speaker, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin who presided over the plenary said the budget was upwardly reviewed to reflect the current economic realities in the country.

Honourable Ogundoyin, commended the lawmakers that worked round the clock to ensure early passage of the 2024 Appropriation Bill.

Recall that the 2024 Appropriation Bill was presented to the State legislature on Tuesday 5th of this month
