Oyo Govt. Commences Distribution of Fish Feeds to Farmers

In Business News, the Oyo state government has commenced distributionof fish feed to farmers to reduce prices of fish and ensure food security in the state.

The distribution was done under the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) program, initiated by the state government to cushionthe effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Addressing newsmen, Chairman, SAfER program, Honourable Segun Ogunwuyi, represented by the Commissioner for Budget and economic planning, Professor Musibau Babatunde, said if prices of fish feed were reduced and deflated, government would be able to ensure the downward review of price of fish in the market.

In a remark, the Permanent Secretary, Oyo state Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development, Mrs Christiana Abioye charged the beneficiaries to make use of the feed effectively for it purpose.

Three thousand 15 kg bags of fish feed were distributed to one thousand fish farmers.
