Oyo Govt. Disburses 2 Billion Naira for Payment of Gratuities, Death Benefits

The Oyo State government has disbursed 2 billion naira for the payment of gratuities and death benefits to over 500 retired primary school teachers and local government workers across the state.

It has so far paid over 27 billion naira since the inception of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, out of the backlog of 36 billion naira owed by previous administrations.

Chairman, Local Government Staff Pension Board, LGSPB, Honourable Akeem Ige made this known at the monthly payment of gratuity and death benefits of retirees for the month of October and November, held at Oyo state secretariat.

Honourable Ige said Governor Makinde’s love for pensioners has made him prioritise the prompt payment of gratuities and pensions to the state retirees.

Honourable Ige promised that the board will continue to ensure seamless payment.

Earlier, Director of Administration and General Services of LGSPB, Alhaji Musbau Oladele reassured the board’s dedication towards the welfare of the state retirees.

Some of the beneficiaries appreciated Governor Makinde for making retiree friendly policies.

Highlights of the event include lectures and symbolic presentation of cheques to beneficiaries.
