Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde has declared that 41 billion naira has been earmarked for the first phase of the upgrading of Ladoke Akintola Airport, Alakia Ibadan, to international standard.
Governor Makinde who gave the figure at the inauguration for the upgrading, noted that it has been his administration’s vision since 2019.
The Governor promised that the project would be delivered in 12 months, adding that the upgrade will turn Ibadan into a regional business hub in the Southwest zone.
Osun state Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who graced the occasion, expressed support for the project and acknowledged the potential benefits of the project for the economic development of Southwest.
He also affirmed his vision to make Osun state an agro-industrial one.
