Oyo Govt. Kicks Off Health Campaign in Okeho

The Oyo State government has reiterated its commitment to provision of effective healthcare services.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi made this known at a sensitisation on prevention of Lassa fever, Diphtheria, Measles, COVID-19 and Cholera in Okeho, Kajola Local Government Area of the State.

According to Dr Ajetunmobi, there were more outbreak of diseases during dry seasons, hence the need for the sensitisation of people concerning the diseases, in collaboration with World Health Organisation, Breakthrough Action and UNICEF.

Dr Ajetunmobi stated that the various vaccines against the diseases are safe, adding that free vaccination against the diseases is ongoing in Oyo State.

In a remark, a representative of Breakthrough Action, Mrs Aderonke Sule-Odu, stressed the need for people to always keep their environment clean.

Mrs Sule-Odu, added that Breakthrough Action Nigeria, would continue to increase the practice of priority health behaviours among the people.

Highlights of the event were health talk, free medical checkups, immunisation against polio and vaccination against preventable diseases.
