Oyo Govt. Payrolls 102 Retired Teachers, Local Government Workers

The Oyo state Government has today, payrolled one hundred and two newly retired teachers and local government workers for the month of January.

Permanent Secretary, Local Government Pension Board, Alhaji Lukman Muraina made this known in Ibadan, at the symbolic presentation of certificates of retirement.

Alhaji Muraina said the payroll exercise was part of the promise of Governor Seyi Makinde to fast track the payment of gratuities and pensions of new retirees that have completed their application of retirement documentation.

Alhaji Muraina advised all the new retirees to make use of all the instructions spelt out to them during their documentation.

On their part, Chairman, Retired Primary School Teachers under the aegis of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo state council, Comrade Dosu Akinpelu and Assistant Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Banji Koleoso congratulated the new retirees, advising the retirees to follow the part of other retirees by contributing to the treasury of the union.

Comrade Akinpelu and Comrade Koleoso equally called on the retirees to know the kind of businesses to invest in.

Two of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Governor Makinde for giving them such hasty privilege.

Highlights of the event were Health talk, medical checkups and presentation of certificates.

Dignitaries present were Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, represented by Dr Adeyanju Olusoji, Chief Nursing Officer, Ibadan North, Mrs Folashade Akinbowale, Secretary, Retired Primary School Teachers, Comrade Tunji Ogunwale and Oyo NUP Trustee 2, Comrade Joel Ayodabo.
