The Oyo state local government staff Pension Board, LGSPB has disbursed two billion naira for the payment of gratuities and death benefits to over five hundred beneficiaries of retired primary school teachers and local government workers.
Chairman, LGSPB, Honourable Akeem Ige made the announcement at the flag off ceremony of monthly payment of gratuty and death benefits held at Oyo state secretariat, Ibadan.
According to Honourable Ige, the disbursement was partof Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to the welfare of pensioners in the state, noting that the governor would soon approve an increment in the monthly allocation to the board as he did for the state board.

He also congratulated Governor Makinde and the people of the state on the celebration of Oyo at 50.
Earlier, Chairman of the Oyo State at 50 Anniversary Committee, Honourable Saheed Akinade-Fijabi congratulated the beneficiaries.

On his part, Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan who lauded Governor Makinde for his unwavering commitment towards pensioners welfare, called on the state retirees to stand firm with the union ahead of the forthcoming general election.

Some of the beneficiaries appreciated Governor Makinde and members of the board for their support and assistance toward their welfare.




Dignitaries present at the event include Assistant Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Banji Koleoso, government functionaries and labour leaders.
