Oyo Govt. Proposes Mobile App. for Pensioners

The Chairman of Oyo State Pension Board, Honourable Adekunle Rafiu says plans have been concluded to provide a mobile application to address problems of Pensioners.

Honourable Rafiu made this known during a courtesy visit on the executive of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Oyo State Council at Pensioners House, Agbarigo, Onireke, Ibadan.

He said the mobile application would put an end to various obstacles facing pensioners concerning payment of their entitlements.

According to Honourable Rafiu, the board would soon embark on an orientation on the mobile application for pensioners in the state.

Speaking further, Honourable Rafiu promised to inform Governor Seyi Makinde of the need to equally pay 13th month pension to the state retirees.

He therefore solicited more cooperation from the senior citizens, saying the board was ready to assist when necessary.

On her part, Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Pension Board, Mrs Modupe Adeleye said the board would strengthen the already established relationship with the union.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Olusegun Abatan congratulated Honourable Rafiu on his appointment as chairman, Oyo State Pension Board and appealed to the state governor to pay retirees 13th -month pension.

Comrade Abatan admonished pensioners to be vigilant and not fall into tactics of fraudsters.

During the visit, the visitors were taken on a facility tour of Pensioners 106.7 FM and Oyo state Pensioners Hospital.

Our correspondent reports that present during the visit were Chairman, Oyo NUP, Chief Isiaka Abolade, Assistant Secretary, Comrade Banji Koleoso, Director of Administration and Supply of Oyo state Pension Board, Mrs Fatima Yusuf, Director, Finance of Oyo state Pension Board, Mr Olakunle Oladeji and executive members of Oyo NUP.
