Oyo Govt Sets to Commence Palliatives’ Distribution

The Oyo State Government is set to commence the distribution of palliatives to over 200,000 vulnerable households in the state.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, made this known while speaking to newsmen in Ibadan.

According to him, the State Government has built on the 2020/2021 COVID 19 social data to generate a reliable social register for the distribution of palliatives to vulnerable persons in the state.

‘We found out that, that time it was a 100 thousand vulnerables we want to cater for. The benefit of experience and also with the work we have done, we should be able to do 200’. 

Prince Oyelade further disclosed that labour and trade unions in the state constitute the SAFER committee, as part of government’s efforts to ensure transparency in the distribution of the palliatives.

‘The governor ensured that veritable stakeholders are involved in the deliberations and in final implementation’.

The Information Commissioner added that more information on the palliatives’ distribution would be rolled out by the State Government in due time.
