Oyo Govt. to Prioritise Food Security

Oyo State ‎Commissioner for Agricultural and Rural Development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye says the state is now among the largest producer of cassava in the country.

‎Barrister Olaleye made this known at an Inter-Ministerial press briefing in commemoration of the 6th year in office of Governor Seyi Makinde.

‎According to Barrister Olaleye, said the cassava stems distributed to over one thousand farmers and planted on 47 thousand acres of land have been yielding positively.

He said that the present administration would continue to support farmers at ensuring food security and economy growth.

He said further that the state has made it to be one of the largest producers of poultry products in the country.

‎Barrister Olaleye allayed fears that influx of estate developers into the State would pose a big threat to farming.

Earlier in a opening remark, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo, ‎said Governor Makinde is poised to deliver meaningful development across Oyo State.
