Oyo NUP Backs Proposed 60,000 Minimum Pension

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP Oyo state council has proposed 60,000 naira as minimum pension.

The union also requested for provision of state of the art equipment from the state government for Sure Health Care Hospital owned by the union.

Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Olusegun Abatan made the call at a stakeholders’ Consultative and Engagement Meeting toward next year’s proposed budget of Oyo state.

According to Comrade Abatan, as proposed by the union’s national body, the request was necessary to tackle the current economic realities facing the senior citizens.

Oyo NUP Scribe urged Governor Makinde to set up committee to investigate the delay in the implementation of the 25,000 minimum pension to pensioners in the state institutions.

Responding, Governor Makinde assured that the proposed 60,000 naira minimum pension would be included in the 2026 budget.
