Oyo Sets Up Trauma Unit for Explosive Survivors

Oyo State government has opened a trauma unit to render psychological and emotional recovery services to the survivors of the Tuesday’s explosion at old bodija estate area of Ibadan.

The Oyo state commissioners for health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi who made this known in an exclusive interview with Pensioners FM Correspondent, said the unit is at the emergency operation centre put in place within the premises of the Oyo State housing corporation, Old Bodija, Ibadan.

Dr Ajetunmobi also added that a clinical psychologist has been assigned with the full responsibilities of carrying out all necessary tests and treatment on the survivors.

“We have taken care of the physical injury we also have to take care of the psychological effect of the trauwa”- Dr Ajetunmobi stated

The Oyo State Health Commissioner therefore advised the survivors and residents around the epic centre of the explosion to come out for both medical and non medical treatments.

“We want to encourage survivors and residents around the epicenter of the explosion to come out for treatments “-Dr Ajetunmobi  noted 

Dr Ajetunmobi also used the opportunity to appreciate all medical and non medical agencies that have been working with the state government on the emergency situation.
