PDP Wins All Oyo LG Chairmanship Seats

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has won all chairmanship seats in last Saturday’s local government election in Oyo State.

Returning Officers of Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC from the thirty three local government areas, had on Sunday, converged on the commission’s state Secretariat, Agodi, to announce the result of the election in each local government area.

The returning officers, therefore declared PDP candidates, who polled the highest number of votes, winners of the Chairmanship election.

Speaking after the announcement of the results, OYSIEC Chairman, Aare Isiaka Olagunju, SAN, lauded the electorate, security agencies, the media, OYSIEC officials and other stakeholders for their involvement in the election.

Aare Olagunju said the few hitches recorded during the election would be addressed before the next local government election.

Aare Olagunju, equally commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for his confidence in OYSIEC.

Pensioners FM correspondent reports that nineteen political parties participated in the election.
