Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, says the State Governor, Seyi Makinde has cleared over 25 billion naira of backlog of indebtedness by previous administrations.
Comrade Abatan said this in an interview with newsmen in Ibadan, the state capital.
According to Comrade Abatan, Governor Makinde has also set up a committee on pension review.
Comrade Abatan lauded Governor Makinde for leaving a good legacy for incoming administrations.
Speaking further, Comrade Abatan, who is also the Public Relations Officer, NUP Southwest Zone, said the union is in support of Organised Labour’s demand of 250,000 naira as new minimum wage.
The NUP Scribe, therefore, urged the government to come down from its high horse and yield to the demands of the Organised Labour.
