It was a glorious day as senior citizens and pensioners in Oyo state gathered for the third edition of Pensioners FM’s oldies party, at the Nigeria Union of Pensioners House, Agbarigo, Onireke, Ibadan.
Speaking at the gathering, Executive Secretary Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, congratulated the committee for the success of the event.

Comrade Abatan reiterated the union’s commitment in ensuring that Pensioners’ welfare is prioritized.
Also speaking, the General Manager, Pensioners 106.7FM, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu, commended the Nigeria Union of Pensioners Oyo State Council, for the initiative to float a radio station, which will serve the needs of pensioners and senior citizens at large.

On her part, the chairman organizing committee of this year’s elders’ party, Mrs Cynthia Akere, noted that the event was organized to bring back good old memories, and enable senior citizens to fraternize with one another.
Mrs Akere, who ascribed the success of this year’s event to God and the dedication of members of the committee, assured senior citizens of better editions in years to come.

Participants who spoke with our correspondent appreciated the radio station for celebrating Christmas with them.
Highlights of the event include free medical check for all senior citizens, health talk, music and games as well as presentation of gifts.
