Reactions have continued to trail the death of Nigeria’s renowned actor, dramatist, folk singer, poet, and playwright, Mr. Jimi Solanke, who died yesterday.
Speaking in an interview with Pensioners FM, a Folklore and Afro Musician, Femi Ajayi popularly known as A J Sequential’, said he received the news of Mr Jimi Solanke’s death with a heavy heart.

A J Sequential described him as one of the finest of Nigeria’s creative artiste.
On his part, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Professor Gbemisola Adeoti, noted that Mr. Jimi Solanke was a worthy ambassador, describing his death as a colossal loss to the theatre community.

A J Sequential and Professor Adeoti condoled with the Solanke’s family and all those who mourned the painful loss, while praying for the peaceful repose of the departed soul.
The legendary poet and playwright died yesterday at the age of 81.
According to report, he was said to have died while being rushed from his country home at Ipara Remo in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State to a private Hospital in Ilisan when he succumbed to the cold hands of death.
A representative of Remo North State Constituency at the state Assembly, Hon Dickson Awolaja confirmed the exit of the gifted artiste to newsmen.
