The Chairman of Contributory Pensioners’ Union of Nigeria, CPUN Southwest zone, Chief Joseph Idowu has stressed the need for the federal government to include Pensioners in the administration of Contributory Pension Scheme.
Chief Idowu who made the call while featuring on The Searchlight, a Pensioners FM programme, said this was to put an end to mismanagement.
He said military and Judiciary have opted out of Contributory Pension Scheme.
Chief Idowu said the proceeds from the funds in the coffers of pension fund administrators, PFAs, were not added to their monthly pensions.
On his part, Treasurer, CPUN Southwest zone, Comrade Adesegun Adeleke called on the federal government to explain why some federal government agencies opted out of the scheme.
Chief Idowu and Comrade Adeleke therefore, advised the government to be more committed to the welfare of pensioners.
