Southwest Speakers of House of Assemblies have urged state governments to prioritise and expedite actions in granting full autonomy to the Assemblies.
This was contained in a communiqué after a meeting of heads of legislature from the six Southwest zones which include Oyo, Osun, Lagos, Ondo, Ekiti, and Ogun state, held in Lagos state.
According to the communiqué, the meeting presided over by Lagos State Speaker, Honourable Mudashiru Obasa, was also aimed at solving common challenges that have hindered the Southwest states from attaining regional cohesion and harmony.
The Speakers also resolved to work collectively in promoting infrastructural development, human capital development, and creating an enabling environment for investment and employment.
