TBI Organises Debates to Mark International Day of Education

As part of the International Day of Education 2025 celebration, a non – governmental organisation Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria,TBI, has organised a debate competition at Bishop Philips Academy and Community Grammar, Ibadan.

The theme for this year’s celebration tagged “AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation,” explored the contentious topic: “Artificial Intelligence Can Effectively Replace Human Teachers in Education.”

The competition brought together students who presented compelling arguments for and against the motion, showcasing their critical thinking, creativity, and depth of research. 

While explaining the reason behind the hosting of the event, Executive Director of Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria, Dr. Dare Adaramoye, highlighted the importance of fostering intellectual engagement and innovation in education.

According to him,the future of education depends on people’s ability to think critically and adapt to new challenges without losing the human touch.

Dr. Adaramoye stressed that the debate is part of TBI’s larger commitment to promoting quality education and empowering young Nigerians to become change agents in their communities.

He commended the principals and staff of the Schools  that participated for their commitment to the students’ growth and the seamless organisation of the event.

The debate was a fitting celebration of education’s power to inspire transformative ideas and empower young minds to prepare them for the future.
