Cultural and Media Tributes have been held for late Baale of Oluyole Estate, Ibadan, South West Local Government Area, of Oyo State, Chief Adeyemi Ogunyemi, at his residence.
The event was marked by rich displays of traditional music, drama, dance, and ewi renditions from various cultural troupes, all aimed at celebrating the legacy of the Baale.
In an interview with Pensioners FM correspondent, the Chairman of the Association ofNigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners, ANTP, Oyo State Chapter, Governor Mr. Mikail Ariyo, described event as festival of honour for a man who championed the cause of indigenous theatre and heritage.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Chairman of the National Association of Teachers of Language and Culture, Mr. Akano Olanrewaju, who said Chief Ogunyemi was more than a traditional leader, said he was a guiding light and father figure to advocates of Yoruba language and culture.
In a tearful tribute, the wife of the late Baale, Mrs. Mofoluwaso Ogunyemi, described her husband as a loving and caring man whose words of encouragement and compassion impacted not just the family, but the entire community.

Mrs. Ogunyemi expressed heartfelt appreciation to everyone who took the time to celebrate her husband’s legacies.
Baale Adeyemi Ogunyemi had passed away on the 7th of May.
Until his death, he was a respected member of the Council of Traditional Baales of Ibadanland, widely known for his deep commitment to preserving and promoting Yoruba values, customs, and identity.
