The Chairman, Ede North Local Government, Hon. Taiwo Amodu, says unity can foster growth and progress in any society.
Hon. Amodu, said this at the swearing in of the newly elected councillors across the eleven wards in the council area of Osun State.
The Chairman further admonished the lawmakers to view their present position as a clarion call to serve their people and urged them to be good representative of their various wards by ensuring that dividends of democracy reach the door-steps of the people.
The Council Chairman further stressed the need to extend the hands of friendship to all and sundry for maximum co-operation fulfilling the mandate given to his administration by the electorate.
Hon. Amodu stressed that unity and oneness of both the executive and the legislature in delivering dividends of democracy to the people in the local government are imperative.
Reacting, the new local government law makers in Ede North appreciated the Majority Leader, Akogun Babajide Kofoworola, the party, the new Chairman and the career officers on ground for establishing cordial relationship during their almost eleven month’s stay in office.
He also promised maximum support for the current administration in recording landmark achievement.
The event, which attracted political big wigs, council officials, families and friends of the councilors and others, was low key in compliance with the directive of the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
