Wakajaye-Oki Road Receives Govt. Attention

The Oyo State government has inspected the road from Iyana Church to Oki junction in Egbeda local government area of the state.

This was sequel to frequent calls from residents of Wakajaiye Community, Ibadan to the state government for prompt attention on the bad condition of the road.

The representatives of Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Engineer Oladayo Akinola and Engineer Ojo Adeyanju who carried out the inspection, were taken round the road network by Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, who is a resident of the community.

Comrade Abatan, who is also the facilitator of the inspection, stressed that good road networks play critical roles in economic development of a society.

Comrade Abatan eulogised Governor Makinde’s commitment to infrastructural development.

Also speaking, President of Wakajaye Community Development Association, Chief Ayo Alabi, appealed to the state government to expedite action in rehabilitating the road.

Represented by Vice President of the association, Chief Majid Liadi, Chief Alabi lauded Governor Makinde for recognising Comrade Abatan’s efforts towards the community.

Other members of Wakajaye Community Development Association, who were part of the inspection, were Vice President 2, Comrade Bayo Ogundiwin, General Secretary, Elder Sola Okunola, Assistant Secretary, Pastor Alawode Oyedoke, Treasurer, Elder Remi Fakunle and Financial Secretary, Elder Idowu Ige.
