WASSET Harps on Effective Waste Management Practice

By Michael Adeyemo

The Team Leader of WASSET, Mr Oluwafemi Boyejo, has called on Nigerians to adopt proper means of disposing of waste products to ensure proper hygiene.

Mr Boyejo made this known in an interview with newsmen while speaking on this year’s World Cleanup Day with the theme “Celebrate the Earth.”

According to Mr. Boyejo, the theme serves as a call to everyone, regardless of location, to actively participate in cleanup events and environmental initiatives.

“Residents are encouraged to actively participate in community cleanup activities, particularly focusing on waterways. This collective effort helps in the removal of plastic waste from our vulnerable ecosystems and safeguarding residents from further harm.

Speaking on the essence of WASSET, Mr. Boyejo explained that the focus of the organisation was to ensure cleanliness and the integration of waste collectors into the Universal Basic Health Insurance scheme.

‘At Wasset, we provide a blockchain protocol that incentivizes conscious waste management actions’-Mr Boyejo.

Mr. Boyejo added that WASSET envisioned a sustainable future where waste creates prosperity for those involved in its proper management.
