Pensioners’ FM has described the death of Ibadan based Veteran Broadcaster, Author and Poet, Babatunde Akanbi Olaniyi, as a huge loss to the Nigerian media industry.
The General Manager, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu, made this known when he led a delegation on a condolence visit to the family of the man popularly known as“Ti O Common” in Ibadan.
According to Dr Tiamiyu, Pensioners’ FM enjoyed a close relationship with the late Babatunde Akanbi Olaniyi and the news of his death came to the Broad, Management and Staff of the station as a rude shock.
While praying for the repose of the soul of the late Babatunde Akanbi Olaniyi, Dr Tiamiyu, who also signed the condolence record opened at the deceased’s Ile Tuntun, NIHORT area, residence, prayed to God to give his family and the Broadcasting fraternity the fortitude to bear the loss of the media giant.
‘He was indeed a very special creation, he always want the best for everyone that comes his path.-Dr. Babatunde said
Responding, Wife of the Late Babatunde Olaniyi, Mrs Olayinka Olaniyi, who described the death of her husband as a great loss, however said he served humanity with uncommon passion.
‘My husband was a lovely and caring man’-Mrs Olaniyi Stated.
One of the Late Broadcaster’s Confidants, Dr Wale Sodiq described Babatunde Olaniyi as an upright person and destiny helper.
Late Babatunde Akanbi Olaniyi popularly known as ‘Ti O Common” who died last Wednesday after a moment of illness, was one of the pioneer presenters and Public Affairs Analysts on Pensioners FM , when it commenced official broadcasting on September 27th, 2019.
