Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has commended the timely response of security operatives to Saturday’s invasion of the state secretariat by some alleged Yoruba Nation Agitators.
Governor Makinde commended the security operatives, while hosting the newly appointed General Officer Commanding, GOC 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Obinna Onubogu at the secretariat, Ibadan.
The Governor charged them not to relent in their efforts in safeguarding lives and property in the state and promised his continuous support.
The Governor added that the frequent changing of GOCs could create loopholes in the security structure of the state and the country.
In his remark, Major General Onubogu assured that there would be no reoccurrence of such invasion.
He also sought the Governor’s permission to resume quarterly operation at Old Oyo national park and other parts of Oke Ogun to curb, kidnapping, banditry and illegal mining.
