Chairman, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, 3SC, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan, popularly known as Akoro, has been appointed into Nigeria Premier Football League Board
Hon. Akoro’s tenure heralded a new lease of life for the fans of Oluyole Warlords due his expertise and result-oriented drive.
Though he narrowly missed out of the continental showpiece last season, the teeming fans of Ibadan darling team still firmly believe in him and remain solidly behind the management, with the stadium filled to its capacity at every home match.
The announcement was made on Sunday at the recent meeting of Club Owners held in Abuja and brought about joyful feelings in the ancient city of Ibadan, to have their proud son in the Board of the Apex League.
The former Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly in a chat with sports journalists disclosed that he was elated to have been considered for such exalted post. According to former footballer, he said:
“I am also pleased to inform you that I have just been officially appointed as a member of the (NPL) Nigeria Premier League Board.
I sincerely appreciate your support at all times”.
Stakeholders in Oyo State Chapter Sports sector have been sending their congratulatory message to the Chairman while other critical stakeholders have inundated him with messages to wish the kind hearted football administrator the best of time on his new appointment.
