ENDING NIGERIA’S ECONOMIC CRISIS IS THE FOCUS OF TODAY’S VIEWPOINT. IT IS WRITTEN BY HONOURABLE FEMI ADEBISI JP, A MEDIA CONSULTANT AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS ANALYST

Many Nigerians are expressing frustration over perceived wasteful spending, Economic mismanagement, and a lack of transparency of the present Federal Government of President Bola Tinubu.
Despite the criticism of misfit Economic Policies, President Tinubu’s Government has been accused of deepening the Country’s Economic woes through questionable Policies and alleged nepotism.
Nigerians were shocked to learn about the secretive acquisition of a new Presidential jet amidst severe Economic hardships.
The cost and procurement details of the aircraft remain undisclosed, adding to the Administration’s credibility crisis.
The revelation came to light only after three Presidential aircraft were impounded in Paris, France over a legal dispute involving a Chinese firm.
The administration’s economic Policies have resulted in unprecedented hardships for ordinary Nigerians.
With soaring prices of goods and services, many Citizens face daily struggles.
Local air travel has become unaffordable, fuel prices have skyrocketed, and electricity tariffs have surged.
The collapse of the Naira has forced many Families to reconsider educational opportunities abroad for their children.
Despite these challenges, President Tinubu’s Administration seems disconnected from the harsh realities faced by millions.
Extravagant displays of wealth, such as lengthy motorcades, have drawn criticism and highlight a perceived disconnect between Government actions and public expectations.
There is a growing call for President Tinubu to demonstrate transparency, embrace accountability, and align his administration’s actions with the pressing needs of Nigerians.
A greater openness about the true state of Fuel subsidy removal and the cost of the new Presidential jet could help restore some public trust.
Realigning his policies to genuinely serve the Public good, rather than personal or political interests, is crucial for the administration’s credibility.
In a period, demanding austerity and strategic Governance, the current leadership approach appears inadequate.
President Tinubu must heed the calls for a different leadership template, one that prioritizes the common good over personal gain.
Only through transparency, responsibility, and genuine public service can the administration hope to regain the trust and support of the Nigerian people.

The administration needs to address the pressing economic issues with sincerity and implement policies that genuinely benefit the populace.
Nigerians are looking for leadership that acknowledges their struggles and works toward sustainable solutions.
This includes taking decisive action on economic reforms, reducing wasteful spending, and ensuring that Government projects are executed transparently and efficiently.
The call for reform is not just about economic policy but also about governance and accountability.
As public discontent grows, the administration has a critical opportunity to change course and build a legacy of integrity and progress.
This requires listening to the concerns of citizens, engaging in honest dialogue, and making tough but humane policy decisions that prioritize long-term national interests over short-term political gains.
In these challenging times, the path to restoring faith in leadership lies in genuine transparency, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to the common good.
Only then can Nigeria hope to emerge stronger and more united in the face of adversity.
