Children have been told to combine sporting activities with their academic pursuit.
This is to ensure their physical, mental and social development.
The Proprietor of Vincy-Froebel Model schools, Alapata along Apete/ Akufo road in Ido local government area of Oyo state, Professor Andrew Fadoju said this during the school 9th biennial inter-house sports competition.
Professor Fadoju stated that his dream was to see students of the school representing Nigeria at various international competitions.
At the end of the competition held at the sports ground of The Polytechnic Ibadan North campus, yellow house also known as Dr Adesoji Akanji came first with 239 points, Comrade Oyegoke Blue house came second with 235 points while Mr Oguntuwase Red house clinched the third position with 219 points.
The competition featured March past, track and field events as well as parents and staff races.
Dignitaries at the event were former Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr Bolaji Ojo-Oba, former commissioner for Information, Honourable Caleb Oyaniyi, former FIFA referee and CAF Instructor, Professor Babatunde Asagba and Dr. Lanre Maja among others.
