The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has called on federal government to rehabilitate and provide modular refineries as part of ways to cushion the effects of economic hardship in the country.
Chairman, Oyo NLC, Comrade Kayode Martins made this known at a press conference, held at the union’s Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

According to Comrade Martins, if these modular refineries were made available, it would reduce the cost of refining crude oil outside the country and the money could be channelled towards workers welfare.
He also urged federal government to implore state governments who are yet to implement wage awards for workers to do so.

Comrade Martins further enjoined federal government to implement all the demands submitted by NLC within the 14 day ultimatum to strengthen the industrial harmony in the country.

He added that the union remains steadfast in its commitment to keep advocating for the welfare of Nigeria workers and the masses.
