The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC Oyo State Council, has called on workers and citizens of the state to reflect on the virtues and imbibe the spirit of Unity that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ represent.
The Council under the leadership of its Chairman, Kayode Martins, made this known in a statement igned by the Council’s Secretary, Adebayo Aribatise.
According to the statement, the union while felicitating with Christian faithful on the occasion of Easter, urged them to remain steadfast and committed to the ideals of justice, fairness and collective progress.
The union however encouraged governments to also prioritise policies that will improve the welfare and well-being of the working class.
The statement called on its members to use this period to pray for peace and economic prosperity in Oyo State and Nigeria.
They also wished Christian members a peaceful Easter celebration.
