The National President of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Mazi Godwin Abumisi has commended the giant strides of Oyo State Council of the union.
Mazi Abumisi said this while featuring on a special programme on Pensioners FM.
He described Oyo NUP as a pace setter among other labour unions.
Mazi Abumisi, lauded the Oyo NUP for making judicious use of members check off dues on construction of a befitting state secretariat, state of the art hospital and the first labour radio station in the world.
Speaking further, Mazi Abumisi called on governments to ensure prompt payment of pensions and gratuities as entrenched in section 173, subsection 1 of the 1999 constitution.
Members of the union that accompanied the National President to the programme were National Secretary, NUP, Comrade Actor Zal, Chairman Oyo NUP, Chief Isiaka Abolade, Secretary Oyo NUP, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, Assistant Secretary, Oyo NUP Comrade Banji Koleoso and Pensioners FM General Manager, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu.
