A public affairs analyst, Honourable Femi Adebisi has backed the proposed single term of six years for president and governors by 35 members of the House of Representatives.
Honourable Adebisi gave the backing while featuring on Pensioners FM’s Current Affairs Programme, “Trending.”
According to Honourable Adebisi, if the proposed bill is passed into law, it will reduce cost of electoral processes, hasten projects development, reduce the influence of god-fatherism, and promote political and economic stability.
Speaking further on the canvass for the rotation of the presidency among the six geopolitical zones of the country, Honourable Femi Adebisi said that would also curb agitations for secession.
He however, concluded that good governance has nothing to do with political ambitions, rather good attributes of political office holders who have the interest of the citizens at heart.
Recall that 35 legislators, under the auspices of Reformed-minded Legislators, had made the proposal of a bill seeking a single term of six years for the President and state governors and rotation of the presidency among the six geopolitical zones of the country.
