Leaders of Aare Onibon Residents Association, Akinyele Local government, Oyo state, have called on Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC to explain why the community has been left in darkness for months, despite being up to date with electricity payment.
The leaders made the call while featuring on Pensioners FM Yoruba Stewardship programme, Abo Ree.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders of the association, Mr Surajudeen Animasahun, said for the past 8 months, Aare Onibon community has not had light which is a disservice to the community.
According to Mr Animasahun, the transformer serving the community got damaged last year November and was taken by IBEDC for repairs and returned, but yet no light.
He noted that due to the epileptic power supply, life has been unbearable for residents and economic activities in the area have been rendered useless.
Mr Animasahun, therefore, urged IBEDC to find an alternative, pending the time the community’s transformer starts working again.
