The Old Students Association of Baptist Grammar School, BAGOSA, Ibadan Chapter, has hosted its maiden Marathon race for the students of the school, aimed at promoting fitness and unity among the students.
The marathon began at the school premises to Aleshionloye, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

In an interview with Pensioners FM, the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Ayodeji Agbonjinmi, underscored the significance of such events in promoting good health, particularly among the youth.
Professor Agbonjinmi, who is also an alumnus of BAGOSA, stressed that the marathon was not only a platform to boost physical fitness but also an avenue to instill discipline and perseverance in the participants.

The Chairperson of BAGOSA, Ibadan Chapter, Mrs. Adekemi Kupoluyi, alongside Chairman of the Marathon Committee, Pastor Akin Omole, explained that the primary aim of organizing the marathon was to discover and nurture sporting talent among the students.
Mrs. Kupoluyi and Pastor Omole expressed hope that the event would be a stepping stone to furthering the students & 39; athletic potential.
The first-place male and female finishers expressed appreciation to the old students for organizing the race and providing an opportunity to showcase their talents.
The Principal of the Baptist Grammar School, Mr Eyitayo Bamidele, also appreciated the old students for organising the marathon race.
Highlight of the event were the presentation of cash prizes to the top three winners in both the male and female categories, as well as certificates for all participants.
