Oyo LECAN Urges IBEDC to Halt Creation of New Accounts for Properties

By Michael Adeyemo

The Chairman of the Licensed Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria, LECAN, Oyo State Chapter, Mr Sylvester Gbogi, has called on the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC, to stop generating new accounts for newly constructed properties.

Mr. Gbogi made the appeal during an interview with a Pensioners FM correspondent.

The LECAN Chairman emphasised that rather than creating new accounts for the properties, IBEDC should continue using Form 74, which essentially act as the official document needed to initiate the process of getting electricity supply to a residential or commercial property from a power distribution company.

Mr. Gbogi noted that the recommendation would help simplify the process and alleviate administrative burdens for both property owners and IBEDC.
