CRECESDA Calls on Nigerians to Join Forces with Govt. to Tackle Insecurity

The importance of Assessment, Budgeting and Budget Performance evaluation for Community Development for People’s Welfare, forms the centre of interactions at the 13th Annual Congress of Creative Community Empowerment Strategy and Development Association CRECESDA, Oyo State, held at the seat of Justice Development & Peace Commission, JDPC, Bashorun, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Creative Community Empowerment Strategy and Development Association, CRECESDA is a Community-based initiative, supported by European Union and MISEREOR was born 13 years ago out of the visionary thinking of the Justice, Development, and Peace Commission JDPC, to empower marginalized communities through innovative strategies, education, health, and economic development, promoting self – sufficiency, social justice, and human dignity.

Welcoming the representatives across the local governments in Oyo State, CRECESDA’s State Facilitator, Comrade Segun Adepoju , explained that the Association, through collaboration with JDPC, its local and international partners, and Oyo State Government, has achieved a lot in areas of health, education and provision of social amenities to many communities.

Presenting a paper title “Effects of Insecurity on National growth and Development, Oyo State in Perspective”, the Commandant, National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSDC, Oyo State Command, Mr. Augustine Padonu represented by Assistant Commandant, Mrs. Victoria Alao, noted that insecurity has become the bane of peace, progress and socio-economic development that has eroded people’s confidence in the nation’s leadership.

Commandant Padonu enjoined the people of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole to view the issue of security beyond government’s responsibility alone by sharing intelligence information and giving support to security agencies from time to time.

Earlier in his goodwill message, JDPC Director, Rev Father Charles Ajibaye represented by Head of Democracy and Good Governance Unit, Mr. Jide Bamgbose while giving the gathering message, of a better tomorrow commended the leadership and members of the association for what they have been able to achieve in the struggle for grass growth development

Reverend Father Ajibaye, represented by Head of Democracy and Good Governance Unit, Mr Jide Bamigbose, encouraged them to forge ahead by effectively representing the interest of the people at the grassroots to engender development for people’s welfare.

Some of the participants while speaking with Pensioners’ FM commended JDPC and other partners for volunteering their resources to promote community development for the wellbeing of the marginalised people at the grassroots.

Highlight of the 13th Annual CRECESDA Congress include reports and exhibition of progress made by various local government chapters and plenary session to overview the groups achievements and challenges.

Among media executives invited to grace the event includes Pensioners’ FM General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu.
