Dilapidated condition of Oyo schools worrisome- Atanda

An education management expert, Dr Ademola Atanda, has called on the Oyo State government to look into the dilapidated condition of some public schools in the state.

Dr Atanda, who is the immediate past Head of Educational Management Department, University of Ibadan, made this known on ‘Isejoba Rere’ a development agenda weekly programme of Justice, Development and Peace Commission, JDPC, Ibadan, with the support of Meserior.

Dr Atanda, who described education as bedrock for national development, noted that the terrible condition of public schools has impacted negatively on students.

He also appealed for the support of all stakeholders in improving the education sector both at the state and federal levels.

Fielding questions on budgeting allocation in the state, Dr Atanda, who commended the Oyo State Government for the 18.78% allocated for education in the 2023 budget, called for continuous monitoring, proper implementation and transparency in the execution of the budget.

Isejoba Rere’ a development agenda programme sponsored by Justice, Development and Peace Commission, JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior, holds every Thursday on Pensioners FM from half past two to 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
